I am so happy to present this particular Shopping Guide because my family has been touched by the Make-A-Wish foundation. One of my daughters is a childhood cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of two. Now a Junior in High School, she is 'cured'. We had the great fortune to take her on a trip to the Bahamas. My husband used to go as a boy, and she always wanted to go.
The Make-A-Wish organization is made up of small chapters around the country and relies on private donations to grant wishes to children with a life-threatening illness. Suffering through almost three years of chemo and long-term cognitive effects is no picnic, but our MAW trip was a beautiful bright spot.
